Kevin O’Neal started a radio career, at the age of 15, working at the local radio station in Clovis New Mexico called KICA. Kevin has been a deejay and musician almost all of his life working in radio and television in such great markets as Amarillo, Abilene, Fort Worth Texas, Mobile and Birmingham Alabama and Memphis Tennessee. Kevin moved to Apple Valley California in 1996 from Birmingham Alabama where he was on air at Magic 96, one of Alabama’s most prestigious radio stations to this day. He left to be closer to his daughter and take advantage of working in California Radio.
In high school Kevin loved watching the band, do their marching routines every afternoon growing up in Portales New Mexico. He decided to ask if he could be in the band. He was surprised when he was told they needed Trombone players.
So Kevin learned to play the Trombone, marched in the band, and continued to do so into college where he majored in radio and minored in music at Eastern New Mexico University.
Kevin started playing the drums in 1974, has toured with several bands, plays guitar, bass, and piano and owns his own recording studio. “Kevin O’Neal Sound Labs,” has produced a multitude of voice over projects for radio and television, jingles, and music projects for singers and bands since 2001.
Kevin has worked with many established national level artists over the years, in different aspects, and is no stranger to the country music scene.
